Anna studied Law at the University of Warwick and graduated top of her year with a 1st class degree. She achieved a very competent in her BVC and went on to complete her pupillage at Chancery House Chambers under William Buck. Since taking tenancy she has enjoyed a varied commercial litigation practice and regularly appears in both County Courts and the High Court in a range of commercial disputes, both at the interlocutory and trial stage. She has particular experience of credit hire matters and debt recovery. Anna has also represented lenders in possession proceedings.

Anna has a rapidly developing contentious private client and trusts practice. She has a particular interest in contentious wills and applications under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 and regularly provides written advice in these matters. Recently, Anna successfully argued that a claim issued over 2 years after the 6 month time limit imposed by the 1975 Act should be given permission to proceed out of time.

Further, Anna has a strong interest in property litigation. She has recently advised on a range of property disputes including breach of restrictive covenants, prescriptive easements, adverse possession claims and boundary disputes. Recently, Anna was instructed in an application to register land as a village green pursuant to s.15 of the Commons Act 2006, and represented locals at an Inspector’s inquiry. Anna now has a thorough understanding of the application process, both from the applicant’s and respondent’s view, and is keen to develop this niche area of her practice.

Anna also regularly represents companies and individuals in winding up and bankruptcy matters.
