He has an eclectic commercial litigation practice that covers many categories of company work, such as shareholder disputes and breaches of duty by directors, with a particular expertise in restraint of trade. He regularly acts in insolvency cases (acting both for and against insolvency practitioners) and has wide experience of pursuing and defending directors accused of fraud. Linked to this, Mohammed acts in regulatory matters involving company investigations and directors’ disqualification proceedings, typically acting for directors accused of wrongful conduct. More recently he has started to develop an international arbitration practice.

His recent cases include:
  • Acting for 2 of the defendants in a claim in conversion of steel containers to the value of £77 million (Scottish & Newcastle Breweries and others v City Wholesale Limited and others).
  • Being appointed as sole arbitrator by the ICC, Paris in an international franchise dispute.
  • Appearing in the Dubai World Tribunal on a contractual claim by the former chief executive officer of one of the world’s largest property development companies (O’Donnell v Nakheel PJSC).
